Age-related diseases and process of aging is greatly contributed by Stress. Responses of these are adoptive reactions of the body which play pivotal role during emergency or when in contact with danger. From ancient times when life was endangered by injuries, incurable diseases and infections, stress response was critical part of human race.
Stress is a biological mode involving activation of energy reserves and stimulation of brain and heart muscle and other organs necessary for survival. Stress response help slope off tension but at a price of losing body strength. Powerful overdrive mode is required which means we need a strong combat system during emergencies. If our response system is weak the organism will perish or get damage-accelerating our aging process. On the other hand if the stress response is drastic or unwarranted then this too has damaging effects on the body as it becomes a disease and expedites aging. Increased level of response of the stress will speeds up the protein break down in organs, alleviate neuron burn out and at the same time increase the level of free radical and suppress the immune system ultimately responsible for body disorders.
Stress is known to be one of the main reasons for premature aging. Various research responses in animals have proved that optimal stress response is linked to longevity; but the extremes highest and lowest degree of stress responses promotes aging and disease. As we grow older our body loses the ability to adopt and stress capacity also suffers. It is the loss of stress resistant that disturbs our adaptation capacity thus speeding up aging. It is this harmful circle that promotes biological aging and increase the risk of age related disease.
For this reason it is very crucial to consider stress management and optimization of this response as anti-aging strategy.
